And I was envisioning/ imagining a bird caged its entire existence, denied its ability to be what it was designed to do, to be free, to fly, and through its death in the cage, it begins to rise, escaping both its physical shell, and the cage it’s contained in. Thus in death there is freedom. The bird does not feel defeat or sadness in its death, but triumph and defiance that nothing can stop it now. The soul leaving the body. The song leaving the musician."
